His passion for his subjects relates directly to his brushwork, weaving mood and emotion in each work of art. Craig began his career after graduating with distinction from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He became well known in the movie industry for painting striking likenesses of his subjects. Working with such clients as Universal Pictures, Disney, Columbia and others led Nelson to equal success in the recording industry creating album covers for Sony, MGM, and Capitol Records. In 1974, Nelson began teaching drawing and painting at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. Since 1990, Nelson has also served at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco as Department Director of Fine Art and instructor of drawing and painting. Nelson is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Society of Portrait Artists, and a signature member of the California Art Club. Exhibiting all over the United States and being commissioned by clients in Germany, Italy, Holland, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, and Austria, Nelson's exquisite work remains a hallmark of portraiture at its finest.
